• Farmwell Library Book Club

The Farmwell Library Book Club meets monthly from September through March. We meet on the last Wednesday of every month (there are a few exceptions, so check the schedule carefully) in the library during each lunch shift.  The first 30 6th and 7th grade students and the first 10 8th grade students to join in the program will receive a copy of each title that we will be reading. Students will need to discuss the selection with a member of the library staff if they are unable to attend a meeting before receiving the next title. Students may join beyond the initial limit but may need to provide their own copy of the book.

Each year we read several of the books nominated for this school year's Virginia Reader Choice Award. This year 6th and 7th grade book club members will be reading several of the middle school nominated titles and 8th grade book club members will be reading several the high school nominated titles.

Writers consider the Virginia Readers' Choice Award a top literary prize because students nominate and select the winning book.

In March, each qualified voter has one vote for his/her favorite book.  A tally sheet will be prepared and submitted by the librarians to the Virginia State Reading Association, sponsors of the award.

STOP BY THE LIBRARY TO PICK UP A PAMPHLET. YOU MUST BRING IT BACK SIGNED BY A PARENT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AS WE HAVE A LIMITED NUMBER OF BOOKS.
