Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Christine Balog

Dear Students and Families,

Welcome to kindergarten at Aldie Elementary School!  My name is Mrs. Balog, and I am very excited to be your teacher this year. This will be my 17th year with Loudoun County Public Schools. This will be my tenth year teaching kindergarten at Aldie Elementary School. Prior to coming to Aldie ES I was a teacher assistant in first grade, computer lab, and kindergarten. I look forward to the opportunity of getting to know you and your family this coming school year.

When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family. I am married, and have two daughters, Megan and Nicole. My daughters attended Loudoun County Public Schools while growing up. They have both recently graduated with degrees in engineering from Purdue University. Both Megan and Nicole live in Indiana so we travel out there often. We have two rescue cats (Phil and Lil) and a rescue dog (Casey).

I have several interests outside of school, including biking, crocheting, hiking, reading, and relaxing with friends. I recently got an E-bike and love biking the trails in the neighborhood and the NOVA area.

Kindergarten is where you learn how to learn and this year we will have fun learning! I am looking forward to the new phonics program we will be using this school year to help you become fantastic readers and writers. You can look forward to exciting hands-on activities and projects that will enhance our learning and, hopefully, help you become a lifelong learner. Please check the kindergarten page on the Aldie Elementary School website for more information about the curriculum and current events.

I look forward to meeting you soon. We have many great opportunities ahead of us. Please contact me with any questions, concerns, or ideas about the upcoming school year. This is going to be a fantastic year! See you on August 23rd for Open House!
