Mrs. Jessica Silliman
I am so excited to be starting my third year at Dominion Trail Elementary School! I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelors degree in Psychology in 2005 and worked in children's community mental health services. I began my Masters in Education degree at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and graduated in 2009 with my Masters degree and a certification in school counseling. I moved to Virginia from Pittsburgh (GO STEELERS) in 2009 and worked as a middle school counselor in Greene County Virginia. In 2011, I was promoted to Director of School Counseling at Floyd T. Binns Middle School in Culpeper Virginia where I remained until coming to Loudoun County!
I am happily married with three young children, aged four, six, and twelve who attend Loudoun County Public Schools, and love spending my free time with my family in the outdoors! I am a huge animal lover and advocate and consider my two dogs children as well! Before becoming a school counselor, I was a certified dog trainer and enjoyed teaching obedience classes and working with families and their "fur" children!
As a school counselor at Dominion Trail Elementary, I want to help students navigate through their student careers, help remove barriers to success, and advocate for them to become productive citizens who will give back to this great community. I believe this is all starts through building positive relationships with students, teachers, parents, and the community; hence this will be one of my primary goals! Please feel free to contact me and I look forward to working with your child!
