Mrs. Clokes is thrilled to begin her sixth year at Hamilton Elementary. Originally from western New York, Mrs. Clokes relocated to northern Virginia from central Florida almost ten years ago. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Old Dominion University (Go Monarchs!) in Norfolk, VA. She earned a Master of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Doctorate in Education with a specialization in curriculum development and instruction from Nova Southeastern University (Go Sharks!) in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Mrs. Clokes is certified in Elementary Education preK-6, ELL preK-12 and Administration and Supervision preK-12. She is also a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT). The 2019-2020 school year will be Mrs. Clokes’s 16th year teaching. She previously taught 2nd - 5th grade in Florida. Most recently, she taught 3rd and 4th grade at Sully Elementary in Sterling, VA and 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade at Hamilton. It is Mrs. Clokes’s desire to be an example of a life-long learner for her students. Outside of school Mrs. Clokes enjoy spending time with her family and friends, reading a great book, shopping for bargains online, and trying out delicious new recipes. She especially enjoys cheering on the NY Giants (and the Redskins, as long as they are not playing against the Giants) and the Golden State Warriors (her cousin plays center for GSW), as well as, exploring the great outdoors with her husband, Damian, and her son, Deacon. Mrs. Clokes is looking forward to another fabulous year at Hamilton Elementary. Let the fun and learning begin!
