Mrs. Holley Morrill - 2nd Grade TeacherHi! My name is Mrs. Morrill. I am so happy I will get to be your teacher this year! It will be different for all of us but one thing will never change...I love teaching kids and I will do my best to make sure you are feeling happy and safe at alltimes. We got this and we are going to have a GREAT year together!
Although I have been here in Virginia for about 15 years , I am a New Yorker at heart. I was born and raised in Rochester, NY. I went to school at SUNY Oswego where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a concentration in English Language Arts and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. After I graduated, I moved to Virginia to begin my first year teaching. I taught in Fairfax County for 7 years (6 years in 1st and 1 in 3rd) and am excited to be starting my 15th year (8th at Creighton’s Corner)! I have taught 1st, 2nd and reading resource at CCE. You will soon see that I hold reading very close to my heart and I cannot wait to share my love of books with all of you! One of my favorite things is when students share books from home that they love! I love learning about new books! Do you have one that is really special to you? :)
The Morrill family members are HUGE sports fans (mainly Mr.Morrill but the rest of us by default), so in the majority of my spare time you can find me cheering on the Buffalo Bills & Sabres, NY Mets, and Syracuse basketball. I love the comradery we see in sports and hearing all the stories of perseverance and overcoming struggles. I like to root for the underdog! (sorry Yankees and Pats fans! ;0 ) I also love going to the beach, READING (adult and childrens books), game nights, going on trips, scrapbooking and spending time with my friends and family. Mr. Morrill and I are always having fun exploring around town with our 5 year old, Mason, our 4 year old Cameron and our newest little peach, Olivia! You will hear me talk ALOT about them and share stories daily! Mason starts Kindergarten at CCE this year! I cant wait to meet you and hear all about your families and start building our own classroom family built on kindness, creativity and love! I look forward to a great 2021-2022 school year!
