    Welcome to Mrs. Morrow’s Class!

    Dear First Grade Families,

Welcome to Seldens Landing! My name is Courtney Morrow and I would like to welcome you to first grade! I am very excited about meeting you and I am looking forward to working with you and your child in reaching his/her fullest potential this coming school year. We have many wonderful experiences and opportunities to learn and grow in the days ahead.

We are going to learn about many interesting topics this year. We will learn about famous Americans, Patriotic Symbols, Hawaii, Australia, and Alaska.  We will learn about plants, animals, habitats, and the seasons.  We will learn about adding and subtracting, patterns, geometry, fractions and place value.  In addition, we will be reading and writing a lot!

I began my teaching career in San Diego where I taught Kindergarten for four years. After beginning my fifth year at the same school, my husband and I relocated to Virginia where we lived in Arlington and Alexandria. I taught first grade for the second half of the year in Alexandria City Public Schools. I was then fortunate enough to have found Seldens Landing where I taught kindergarten for two years before teaching first grade. This will be my fifth year in first grade at Seldens Landing and my 12th year of teaching.

My husband and I have now lived in Ashburn for the past 6 years and have two children. We feel blessed to have found Loudoun County and to raise our family in such a wonderful community.

I look forward to meeting all of you at Open House. This will be a wonderful opportunity to become familiar with one another. During Back to School Night I  will discuss information about our classroom including policies, procedures, expectations, and more.

Until then, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact the front office. I look forward to meeting with you and working with your children!

    Sincerely,

    Courtney Morrow
