As we head toward Summer, many students may want to take advantage of the days off to make great strides in their playing abilities and musical understanding. I strongly recommend taking private lessons during the summer. Students who take private lessons and practice often jump a level (or more) for the next school year. Here are my recommendations:
The Catoctin School of Music
(571) 306 - 1880
Music and Arts - Leesburg (next to Best Buy)
- Many Heritage Students have studied at The Catoctin School of Music and have gotten into colleges and conservatories; most recently Radford Univeristy, James Madison University and the Eastman School of Music.
Ben Lacy, Classical Guitar Instructor
- I am very proud to say that a former student of mine (from NVCC) is teaching at Music and Arts (Leesburg). If you go to Music and Arts for lessons, ask for Nathan Howe. He is great for Beginning and Intermediate instruction!
- Located in Virginia, The Ashburn Guitar Studio is devoted to the classical guitar technique. Although beginners are certainly welcomed, intermediate to advanced students are customarily accepted via referral from their middle or high school guitar directors.
