MOBILE HOPE of Loudoun
Mobile Hope works to create positive changes in our clients, guiding them through their challenges to become self-sufficient.
Our services are offered at our offices or on our bus which travels to Leesburg, Ashburn, Sterling, Purcellville, Middleburg, South Riding and Luckett’s.
Currently Mobile Hope has 2 programs that are designed to serve the needs of the children and young adults in need.
Homeless Youth Diversion Program
Our core program is the Homeless Youth Diversion Program which supports children, 24 years of age or younger, who are precariously housed as defined by the McKinney-Vento Act. This definition, used by the public-school system, states that a student is homeless if they—“lack a regular, fixed and adequate nighttime residence”.
We offer:
-
Essential support items—clothing, coats, shoes, hygiene items, food, new socks and new underwear
-
Donated cars and help with transportation
-
Financial assistance
-
Extensive Case management
-
Life Skills—such as cooking, grocery shopping, money management, opening a bank account, learning to ride public transportation
-
Youth Employment Services (YES)—job skills training, career interest assessment, interviewing skills and resume writing. Computer access is on site.
-
Court Mandated community service
Crisis Care
Our Crisis Care program is an adjunct program. Working in conjunction with the Housing First Model, clients are 18–24 years of age and are literally homeless as defined by HUD—“living in conditions not meant for human habitation”.
We offer:
-
Emergency housing & safe housing options
-
Case Management options
-
Mental health counseling, evaluations, and substance abuse support with licensed clinical social workers (LCSW) through our Piece of Mind program (POM)
-
From Handcuffs to Hope program which works with offenders while incarcerated in order to transition into life outside jail.
-
All the services listed under Homeless Youth Diversion Program.
-
The hallmark of these programs is our “Wrap Around” coordinated care team which is comprised of staff and volunteer experts, who meet weekly to discuss progress and barriers.
