Ms. Bridges

Ms. Bridges is originally from Florida where she attended Florida State University majoring in English Literature and Communications.  She began teaching English 11 in 2008 in Hampton Roads.  After two years there, she relocated to the Northern Virginia area. In her career, Ms. Bridges has taught varied levels of grades 9-12, has been both the yearbook and newspaper adviser, and sponsored numerous clubs. 

The 2019-2020 school year will be her 13th year teaching and 1st at Briar Woods.  She previously taught at Potomac Falls High School for 10 years before moving to Briar Woods. For the sixth year, Ms. Bridges is teaching AP Literature and enjoys the challenging material and working with seniors. She will also be teaching 10th grade for the 7th consecutive year where she shares her love for all things British.
Additionally, this year, Ms. Bridges will assume the role of English Department Chair, and she looks forward to fostering a collaborative working environment focused on rigor and student achievement. 

In her (limited) spare time, Ms. Bridges enjoys reading, traveling, photography, and watching sports. She is excited to be a Falcon and happy to make the Woods her home.
