The Dominion High School Dance Team will be offering free workshops during the end of April of 2015. These workshops are open to all Dominion High School and Seneca Middle School students.
The dance workshops will consist of a weeks of free classes, around 3-4 classes, taught by various members of the competition team and/or guest choreographers. The choreography taught will mainly be in hip hop but may also include styles such as lyrical, pom, kick and jazz.
Whether you come out to just one workshop or you join in on every single one, there is no obligation to audition for the dance team. This is your chance to see what the dance team is all about and learn some fun dance moves while you're at it!
If you are interested in auditioning for the DHS Dance Team for the 2015-2016 season, the following week after the free workshops will be try-outs. During the week of free workshops, we will teach the audition piece alongside other pieces of choreography. Going to the workshops is not mandatory and is not a prerequisite for trying out, but will tremendously help you to do better at try-outs. This year's audition process will be 3 days long. All 3 days are MANDATORY.
The audition piece will also be posted online, usually up to 1 week in advance, for those individuals that can not attend the workshops but are interested in auditioning. Try-outs are open to 8th graders, freshmen, sophomores, and juniors.

If you do not fall into one of those categories but would like to try-out anyhow, just to get feedback from the judges and see how you would have scored, please let us know in advance so that we can fit you in. For example, if you are a senior this year and you are graduating in spring or if you are a 7th grader this year and you really want to get a head start, you are welcome to try-out with prior notice.
