Welcome to Language Arts with Mrs. O'Brien
Mrs. O'Brien acquired her Secondary Education Licensure (grades 6-12) and Master of Education (M.Ed) in Curriculum and Instruction from the Graduate School of Education at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. Prior to this, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in English (BA) from George Mason University’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences.  During a summer session as an undergrad, she was thrilled to study Irish literature and culture at University College Cork in Cork, Ireland.
She is delighted to be returning to Eagle Ridge Middle School for the 2019-20 academic year. This is her twelfth year teaching at ERMS. Previous students may know Mrs. O'Brien as "Ms. Burns" (her maiden name).
Mrs. O'Brien is a proud graduate of Broad Run High School in Ashburn, VA. She loves residing and working in Loudoun County. Her favorite things to do when not teaching include: reading novels, journaling, scrapbooking, going to the movies, dining out, and especially -- spending time with her husband David and 6-year-old son, Mason.
She looks forward to working with students on their individual learning goals this academic year. She values parental support and communication and believes it is vital for a student’s success in school. Please let her know if there is anything she can do to help make this year in Language Arts even more educational and fun!
