• Meet Mrs. Cooper

I was born in North Carolina, raised in Michigan, then transplanted to Northern Virginia in 2010 for work and fell in love with Loudoun County. I graduated from Michigan State University (home of the Spartans) with a Bachelors of Animal Science and a minors in Science and Equine Management. For me, I have always loved the world of science and teaching. My previous jobs in the veterinary field have been centered around science and biology, making my choice to become a Biology Teacher an easy one. I have also worked at greenhouses, on an organic produce farm, at several horse farms, in a microbiology laboratory, and in two graduate admission departments in the fields of Chemical Engineering and Osteopathic Medicine.

I completed my teaching certificate through Shenandoah University and have taught at Belmont Ridge MS in Life Science, at Broad Run HS in Biology and Environmental Explorations, and finally I have taught Biology during summer school at Park View HS. To further deepen my Biology Teaching repetuor I attended GMU's VISTA program, and continue to incorporate their best teaching practices into my classes.
I look forward to being back at BRHS for a another great year, GO SPARTANS!
