Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Dawn Snyder
I am very excited to be starting my 10th year at Lovettsville. I love teaching first grade! Being a teacher gives me the opportunity to fulfill one of my greatest joys - working with and interacting with children. I love that every day my job is different than the day before. Each day is filled with new challenges and adventures. I am excited to continue my adventures with the students and staff at Lovettsville Elementary School!
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Shepherd College in 1992 and a Master of Science in Education from Shenandoah University in 1998. This fall will mark the beginning of my 31st year of teaching. I've been employed by LCPS for my entire career with the exception of one year when I taught for the Department of Defense in Seoul, South Korea. I have taught every grade at the elementary level K-5 with the exception of 4th grade.
I was born and raised in neighboring Jefferson County, West Virginia. I continue to live in Jefferson County with my family, which includes my husband, Rodney, and our two boys, Jackson age 19 and Rhett age 17. My husband teaches math at Loudoun Valley High School in Purcellville. Our oldest son, Jackson, is a sophomore at Arizona State University this year. Our youngest son is a senior in high school. When not at school, you can usually find us attending or volunteering at one of our boys' extracurricular activities.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the other members of our family which have 4 legs. We have 2 dogs, Snowball and Parker.
