• Welcome Letter from Principal Roche

     Karen D. Roche

    Dear Moorefield Station Parents,

I am very excited to be the principal of Moorefield Station Elementary. This coming year will be an exciting time as we build a climate and culture at Moorefield where we will “educate tomorrow’s leaders.” I am confident that we will have a great school year filled with many fun-filled learning experiences for all. I look forward to meeting all the Moorefield parents and students.

I started my career over twenty years ago at a small Loudoun County school teaching fifth grade. I have taught fourth and fifth grade at Waterford Elementary, seventh and eighth grade at Sterling Middle, seventh grade at Eagle Ridge Middle and served as a dean at Eagle Ridge. I served as the assistant principal at Seldens Landing Elementary for six years, and for the past several years I have been the principal of both Aldie and Middleburg Elementary schools.  My entire educational career has been spent serving the children of Loudoun County.

My educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Lynchburg College, a Master's degree in Education from Marymount University and an Education Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Virginia.

I feel extremely fortunate as I begin this journey with you and your children and I welcome the opportunity to get to know the parents and students of the Moorefield Station community.

I look forward to meeting you and starting on this exciting journey.
