Reading Specialist / Literacy Coach
Educational AffiliationsState University of New York at FredoniaBS Elementary Ed.MS Reading Ed.Mrs. Swierczynski is the Reading Specialist at the Douglass School and is beginning her seventh year at Douglass, seventeenth in Education. She has taught in Warren and Frederick Counties and spent two years teaching Reading at a high school in Silver Creek, New York. Mrs. Swierczynski is a New York State native. Mrs. Swierczynski has worked with students of all grade levels. She enjoys sharing her love of reading and focusing on promoting Literacy throughout Douglass School. Outside of school Mrs. Swierczynski enjoys spending time with her family and pets. She also enjoys exercising, cooking and cultivating her green thumb.
The role of the Reading Specialist at Douglass has several roles. Mrs. Swierczynski teaches 21st Century Literacy Strategies, as well as collaborating with teachers on implementing Reading Strategies into the content areas.
