Hi! This is my 9th year working as a school counselor at Moorefield Station, and I continue to love being a SHARK. I will be working with students in 2nd and 5th this year. I graduated from the University of North Carolina with a Master's in Counseling and have been involved in the field of education and counseling since that time. I've been working in Loudoun County Public Schools as a counselor for 17 years. I began at Hutchison Farm Elementary in South Riding. Before working at MSE, I was the school counselor at three small schools in western Loudoun: Aldie, Banneker, and Middleburg. I enjoy living in Purcellville, VA with my husband Chris and our golden/collie mix, Chloe, and our affectionate cat, Zaz. My husband and I have four children, Ben, Jessalyn, Emily, and Sam. I also have a son-in- law, Adam, a daughter-in-law, Jacki and I am a proud grandmother of three. In my free time, I love reading, everything artistic, and traveling with my family.
My name is Kimberly Kenny. This will be my 7th year as a school counselor in Loudoun County. I have a master’s degree in counselor education from Virginia Tech and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from George Mason University. Prior to becoming a school counselor, I worked in community mental health for several years.
When I am not at school, you can find me spending quality time with my family and dog, Chance. We enjoy snow sports, running, cooking and photography.
I will be working with students in grades K and 3 this year. My role as a school counselor is to support students’ academic success, career exploration, and social/emotional growth during this time. I provide individual and small group counseling as well as classroom lessons to help students reach their maximum potential. In addition to working directly with students, I collaborate with parents, teachers, administration, and other stakeholders in the community in order to ensure students receive the support they need to achieve and accomplish their goals.
I strongly believe in a team approach and I am excited to partner with you and your child this year. I would enjoy the opportunity to learn more about your child’s individual needs. Please feel free to contact me by phone or email at Kimberly.Kenny@lcps.org if you have any questions or concerns. I would be HAPPY to help!
My name is Lexi Vaughn, and this will be my first year as a counselor with Loudoun County! I am thrilled to be a SHARK for four days of the week, while also serving students and families of Countryside ES for the remaining week. I grew up attending fabulous schools in the LCPS and FCPS districts, and then I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from George Mason University. I completed my Master’s in School Counseling from Liberty University in May of 2021, and I'm excited to start building relationships with the Moorefield Station family!
Throughout pursuing my education, I worked at a tutoring company as an Elementary Education Specialist. When I am not spending time with students and staff, I enjoy painting, reading, and cuddling/playing with my cats! I have a striped, chonky ball of personality named Pishi; and a silky, grey queen of a cat named Eve. When I want to be more active, I like to play and coach volleyball!
Joining this all-star counseling team for the 2021-2022 school year is an honor, and I eagerly await learning more about your student’s goals and needs. I look forward to meeting you all!
