24945 Lobo Drive, Aldie, VirginiaGoshen Post Elementary School, sited adjacent to John Champe High School, will open at the start of the 2018-2019 school year. On August 8, 2017, the Loudoun County School Board approved a calendar for the establishment of an attendance zone for Goshen Post Elementary School. In approving the calendar, the following elementary schools were recommended to be notified of the meeting dates for the Goshen Post Elementary School attendance zone process: Aldie, Arcola, Buffalo Trail, Cardinal Ridge, Hutchison Farm, Liberty, Little River and Pinebrook. Notification of a specific school community does not indicate that the elementary school attendance zone currently serving the community will change but that elementary school attendance zone adjustments may be reviewed, proposed and/or adopted. A notice letter was sent home with each elementary school student, from the aformentioned identified schools, on August 24, 2017.

Dulles South Residential Development MapThe Discovery Analytics Center (DAC) at Virginia Tech is a graduate research and educational unit that focuses on using big data science to address, inform, and solve complex problems. Funded by the National Science Foundation’s Research Traineeship program, DAC students are encouraged to outreach with community and government entities to identify problems and develop data-driven solutions. A partnership with LCPS Planning Services is underway to develop a big data platform for the public to use during the Goshen Post Elementary School Attendance Zone Process.
The site will exhibit data and information such as planning zones with student counts, capacities, School Board policy and regulation, plan scenarios, and other considerations that go into school redistricting. The software may help you:
- Visualize school attendance zone maps and proposed changes
- Understand how proposed changes affect people in each neighborhood
- Share your opinion and provide feedback
- Create your own plan
- Learn what others think about the changes
