• Brief Philosophy of Education

I believe the purpose of education is to create well-rounded open-minded citizens who have the necessary knowledge and skills to become independent and contributing members of society.  My objectives are to help my students become life-long learners by providing them with opportunities to develop the analytic skills and master the factual knowledge necessary to deal critically with the specific content under study.   I use a variety of classroom management techniques, teaching strategies, and assessment tools in my quest to be an effective teacher.  Teaching is more than a career.  It is a calling.  My day does not begin nor end with the ringing of a school bell.  My goal is not to merely teach a subject but to inspire, motivate, and encourage students to do their very best.  I believe that one of my purposes in life is to give my students a message of hope.
