Director of Counseling
Background and Bio:
Mrs. Campbell comes to John Champe from Fairfax County Public Schools where she had a distinguished career for the past 10 years. During her tenure at South Lakes High School, her leadership and contributions were a vital aspect that led to a 2011 designation as a RAMP (Recognized ASCA Model Program) winner; this prestigious national recognition is awarded to schools after a rigorous application process demonstrates the implementation of a comprehensive, data-driven counseling program and an exemplary educational environment that follows the American School Counselor Association’s model. After working at South Lakes as a career center specialist and school counselor, Mrs. Campbell was selected to initiate a transition counselor position for Lanier Middle School and Fairfax High School where she developed a peer mentoring program and worked to ensure the successful transition of students from middle school to high school. Mrs. Campbell’s background also includes having worked as an admissions counselor and recruiter for four years at George Mason University. Mrs. Campbell’s experience uniquely positions her to be an effective guidance director for John Champe High School as it works to transition its incoming students, lay the foundation for an effective counseling program and looks ahead to help students enter college or the workforce.
