    Meet our School Counselors!

Hello! My name is Mrs. Suh and this will be my 5th year at Newton Lee. This 2023-2024 school year, I will be working with students in  grades 1, 4 and 5 and I am thankful to continue to work with the students and families of NLE.

I was born in Korea and my family moved to the States when I was in second grade. I eventually went to the University of Virginia for my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Master's degree in Counseling. I was a foster care and adoptions social worker before staying home to raise my two daughters. As my daughters got older, I decided to work with children, this time in the school setting.  My older daughter is off to college this year so I am having to adjust to some family changes. To get ready for her departure, we added a new dog named Beanie to our family, who turned one in June.

I am excited about working with the Newton-Lee community again and look forward to connecting with you. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns at katherine.suh@lcps.org.

Hello Newton-Lee Family! My name is Ms. Strother and I am so thrilled to join the Newton-Lee again next year full-time as a School Counselor. For the 2023-24 school year, I will be working with Kindergarten, 2nd, and 3rd Grades. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the students and surrounding community at Newton-Lee the past two years and am excited about another wonderful year!

I am a double duke, graduating from James Madison University in both 2018 with a Bachelors in Psychology and again in 2021 with a Masters of Education. Between my degrees, I worked full time as a Special Education Teacher’s Assistant in Loudoun County. In my free time I love reading, spending time with my golden retriever puppy Gus, trying new foods with friends, crocheting, and exploring coffee shops and book stores.

I feel so grateful to work with the students, parents and staff at Newton-Lee and look forward to connecting with you soon, Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have at caleigh.strother@lcps.org.
