• Welcome to Second Grade and Room 14!  I am Mrs. Surma and I am excited to be your teacher this year!  I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know all of you. This year we will learn about citizenship, community helpers, magnets, life cycles, animals and their habitats, create stories in Writer's Workshop, and expand our reading skills during Reading Workshop. We will also design and create PBL projects while collaborating with each other.  I look forward to our school being a computer science school.  My goal is to create life long learners in the 21st century.
This is my 14th year of teaching.  I have lived in Loudoun County for most of my life and I graduated from Broad Run High School.  I earned my Elementary Education degree from Radford University.  I currently live in Round Hill with my husband, Michael, my tenth grade daughter, Natalie, and cockapoo, Daisy. I am looking forward to working with you and your child this school year!
