Welcoming new Bears to our Family
    Mrs. Elizabeth Bruno

I am thrilled to be joining the Lovettsville staff this upcoming school year as a Full Day Kindergarten teacher! For the past 4 years, I have been teaching First Grade at Frances Hazel Reid in Leesburg. Prior to teaching in Leesburg, I worked as a TA and one-on-one aide in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade in Ridgewood, New Jersey. I have been working with children for more than half of my life, starting work at day camps, day cares, and pre-schools at the age of 14-working with children brings me so much happiness! I am a New York native, having grown up in Astoria, Queens and later Rockland County. I graduated from SUNY Oneonta with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I am so excited to be the first teacher our Kindergarten students will have beginning their career at Lovettsville Elementary! I can't wait to instill a love of learning and foster children's innate curiosity of the world around them, while establishing a strong knowledge base to set them up for future successes!

When I'm not teaching, you can find me at home in Brunswick Crossing. I love to bake, attend concerts, read, spend time with my husband, and work on our new hobby-wood crafts!

I look forward to a wonderful year ahead in Kindergarten and cannot wait to meet all of my new students!

    Mrs. Kate Stokley

    Hello Everyone!

My name is Kari Parrish, and I will be joining Lovettsville’s fabulous staff as a First Grade teacher next year. I hold a Master’s in Early Childhood Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Maryland. For the last two years, I have been teaching First Grade at Creighton’s Corner Elementary in Ashburn. Many of you may know me as Ms. Kari from my days at our community center preschool.  I’m beyond thrilled to be returning to Lovettsville. We will explore many topics together and create memories together too!

    Second Grade
    Ms. Cindy Patterson

Hi!  My name is Cindy Patterson and I am THRILLED to be joining the Lovettsville staff!  This will be my 12th year teaching.  I began my career in Maryland teaching Kindergarten, first, and second grade.  I took some time off to stay home with my boys and four years ago, I started in Loudoun County as a reading specialist in Sterling. The past three years I was at Round Hill teaching first grade.

I was born in Dallas, Texas…GO COWBOYS, but was raised in Maryland and have been living in Virginia for the past 10 years.  I graduated from University of Maryland College Park…GO TERPS!  I majored in Early Childhood Education, and then obtained my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Loyola College.  In addition, I have my Reading Specialist Endorsement from University of Virginia.

I have two boys who LOVE baseball!  My oldest is in seventh grade and my youngest is in sixth grade. My evenings and weekends are spent on the baseball field cheering them on!  When I’m not on the baseball field, I enjoy running or curling up with a great book!

I can’t wait to spend this year learning and growing with each of you and your children!

    Mrs.Valarie DiCarlo

"A teacher is a compass that activates the magnets of curiosity, knowledge, and wisdom in the pupils."

    -Ever Garrison

I am looking forward to beginning my first year at Lovettsville Elementary as a fifth grade teacher.  This is my 14th year teaching.  I began my teaching career in private schools where I taught preschool, third grade and fourth grade.  I have been a second grade teacher at Sterling Elementary for the last three years.

I received my Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Carlow University.  I received my Master’s in Elementary Education and Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership degree from Regent University.   I am a lifelong learner and hope to share my love of learning with my students.

I am a native of New Jersey, but have spent most of my adult life in Virginia.  Four years ago my husband and three children moved to Lovettsville.  I love Lovettsville and hope to be here for a long time.

I can’t wait to meet my new students and parents!

    Mrs. Meaghan Stevens

Mrs. Stevens is really excited to be one of the fifth grade teachers at Lovettsville Elementary. She is excited to get back into the classroom and looks forward to this great opportunity. She has worked in education for thirteen years.  Most recently she was at Rock Ridge High School as the Library Media Specialists and Rosa Lee Carter as a fourth grade teacher. Previously she taught fourth grade and kindergarten in Richmond before returning to Loudoun County. She graduated from Potomac Falls High School so she is a product of Loudoun County Public Schools.  After high school she attended Longwood University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and later her Master Degree in Library Science.

Her main love outside of school is reading; you will always find her in the middle of one book if not two or three. Her other loves are photography and watching movies with her family and friends. She strives to make learning a great experience for all of her students and hopes they come away from her classroom with a head full of knowledge and a heart filled with excitement. Feel free to contact her at any time. Her email address is
