This is Mr. May's 16th year of teaching 9th-grade health and physical education as well as advanced physical education at Stone Bridge. In addition, Mr. May is the Chair of the Health and Physical Education department. A native of Kirkland, WA but raised in Aston, PA.
Attended Lock Haven University 1974-78 earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation degree. Four-year varsity soccer player at Lock Haven and senior co-captain of the 1977 NCAA Division III National championship team. Master's degree in Health and Physical Education with an emphasis in Secondary Education from Virginia Commonwealth University 1979-80. Taught physical education and coached the Men's Soccer and Women's Softball at Eisenhower College from 1980-82. Taught physical education and was the Head Women's soccer coach at Cornell University from 1982-2000 where the team won two Ivy League titles, appeared in six ECAC post-season tournaments and the team was ranked six times in the final top 20 in the country during his tenure. May also attained USSF "A" soccer coaching license. Moved to Ashburn, VA in 2000 and began teaching physical education and was the head varsity boy's soccer at West Springfield, Springfield, VA guiding the Spartans to four AAA State tournament appearances winning three state AAA titles 2001, 2002 and 2004. May also coached the Boys soccer program for 11 years here at Stone Bridge guiding the team to two Northern Region Championship and two state tournament berths with the 2010 team playing in the state final four.
His wife, Cynthia, is also Department Chair at Broad Run HS.
