Mrs. Lockwood has been teaching in Loudoun County for several years, first as a special education teacher and now as the Instructional Facilitator of Technology at Sterling Middle School.
She was born in New York City and after serving in the United States Air Force, Mrs. Lockwood moved to Virginia. She has lived in New York, New Jersey, Wyoming, South Dakota, Texas, California, Washington, and Germany.
Mrs. Lockwood has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary & Special Education from Marygrove College and a Master's of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from George Mason University as well as post graduate work from the University of Northern Colorado. She became a National Board-Certified Teacher in 2010.
Mrs. Lockwood's current job requirements consists of being a job coach, assisting teachers in the implementation of the LCPS technology plan, maintaining the Sterling Middle School website, troubleshooting technical issues, helping teachers with either OTTW or PBL projects and other on-line programs. She also has a wonderful group of students that she meets with every day.
When not at work Mrs. Lockwood enjoy spending time with her daughters, Alicia and Michelle, and a house full of animals.
