Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!

This is my 20th year teaching in the Public School setting and my 13th year with Loudoun County Public Schools at Smart's Mill Middle School.

I have served as the District 16 Choral Representative to the Virginia Music Educators Association and the Virginia Choral Directors Association, as a mentor teacher for student teachers and as a mentoring teacher to LCPS new Choral Directors.  I have acted as an adjudicator for district level events, and as a guest clinician.

I attended the Conservatory of Music at Duquesne University and received my degree from Slippery Rock University of PA. I have taken graduate coursework from Christopher Newport University, Duquesne University and Shenandoah University Conservatory of Music.

Active memberships: NAfME, VMEA, ACDA, VCDA, NEA, VEA, and LEA.

I have the pleasure of teaching all chorus classes at SMMS. I also sponsor the Maverick Choir, an after school, auditioned choir for 7th and 8th grade music students wishing to take their choral training "to the next level".

I am happily married to Joe, a teacher at Dominion HS in Sterling VA, and have two wonderful sons, Casey and Matthew. I love sailing, traveling, reading, singing, and most importantly, spending time with my family.
