She has taught Civics, 6th grade history and even math! She enjoys teaching U.S. History, especially the 7th grade curriculum. She is very excited to be teaching 7th grade again this school year. Ms. Boehl is currently pursuing a PhD in Education Policy from George Mason University. She graduated with a Masters in Education in Curriculum and Instruction from GMU and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University-Hawaii in Political Science and Psychology. In her spare time she enjoys to spend time with her family and friends. She really loves to read and tries to read at least 1-2 books each month. She loves to travel and is slowly trying to travel the world. Ms. Boehl also loves the challenge of completing long-distance races. It is definitely her passion. She is always training for some big event; feel free to ask her which one (although, be careful because she might talk your ear off). She is most proud of finishing her first marathon in October 2012. Since then she hasn't stopped running. This school year she is going to complete her first Ironman, which is 140.6 miles. Once upon a time she didn't think she was capable of doing even a 5k, but decided to give it a try and has since completed over 95 races with distances ranging from 3.1 miles to 70.3 miles. She was able to accomplish that through consistency, patience and lots of determination, Ms. Boehl has learned that you really can do what you set your mind to IF you're willing to put in the work. She hopes to convey that lesson to her students this school year.
