Mrs. Melba Folly

I am your 7th grade school counselor. I have had the pleasure of working with students in schools intermittently since 2005. I was a substitute teacher and then a school nurse for my first ten years in education with FCPS. Then, in 2023, I earned my master's degree in school counseling and am happy for the opportunity to be working with students and families in that capacity. I feel truly blessed to work with the students at Trailside Middle School! When I am not at Trailside Middle School, I spend my time with my family. Louis, my husband of 21 years and the proud mother of 2 college students, Modeste and  Jean-luc ( JL). Our favorite activity is travel, where we have created memories to last a lifetime! Fun fact, I love marvel movies.

As a school counselor, my goal is to support students’ academic, social/emotional, and career development through classroom counseling lessons, small group counseling and individual counseling.  I see every opportunity as a learning opportunity, so I look forward to learning and collaborating with families, teachers, staff and the community to help students.
