Ms. Diann Landau
Ms. Landau was born in New York City but grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. After graduating from Towson University, earning her BSc in Fine Art, she moved to Los Angeles (having earlier attending the Art Center College of Design there) and started working for Walt Disney Studios as an animator. She eventually became a directing animator of Special Effects for Disney. 2 years after starting there a group of artists left Disney and formed their own animation studio. In 1986 the studio moved to Dublin, Ireland where Ms. Landau pursued her long time love of horse riding. It was there she started competing in horse trials and show jumping. In 1994 she returned to the US, buying a small farm in Western Loudoun County.
After working as a substitute for Loudoun County Public Schools for several years, Ms. Landau got her teaching license in 2015 after going through the Career Switchers program at Shenandoah University. Having been a life long "student" of Geology and Paleontology (which she was able to incorporate into her animation) she became endorsed to teach Earth Science, Middle School Science, Biology, and Art. She has taught Summer School since 2011, and has taught Earth Science at both Freedom High School and Dominion High School. She was a team teacher at Loudoun County High School in Earth Science, Biology, and Environmental Science until 2022. Ms. Landau joined the Park View family in 2022.
Besides living in Ireland, Ms. Landau has traveled to East Africa several times, and has always been interested in different cultures. She will bring her many life experiences into her classroom, but welcomes the chance to expand her "world vision" through her students and their experiences.
