Ms. Minto, Shamara

Hello everyone,

Ms. Shamara Minto, currently lives in Leesburg with her sister, brother-in-law, niece and nephew. As you can imagine, they have a lot of fun together. In their free time they enjoy trips to the Leesburg animal park, the circus, and an ocassional family trip (Hershey Park Pennsylvania). When Ms. Minto is off on her own; she enjoys visiting different states or countries, trying different foods, watching movies, hanging out with her peers, telling jokes, attending church, and she LOVES playing video games.

Ms. Minto is orginally from Brooklyn, New York where she graduated from New York University with a major in Fine Arts and a minor in Education. Ms. Minto started a career in NY as a fine arts teacher. She has worked in after school programs, elementary school, and middle school. Later on she moved to Virginia in which she became a residential group home employee with chiden/young adults between the ages of 10-20. After working at the group home she decided to go back to school and earned her degree in special education from Old Dominion University. It was the best decesion she ever made. She enjoys working with children and it has deeply impacted her life.

Ms. Minto decided to make a transition to River Bend in 2020 and can't wait to share her time and energy with the Bend! She is looking forward to a fantastic school year and hopes you are to.
