Hi! My name is Emily Dubnowski and I am the Divisional Instructional Facilitator supporting Frederick Douglass Elementary School. I was born in Tokyo, Japan and immigrated to the United States with my parents when I was 2 years old. I grew up in Rockville, MD. I always wanted to be a teacher but pursued a career in gemology after college. Later in life, I decided to go after my dream of working with children and here I am, a career switcher educator. I want to share my passion for education with everyone and support FDES with their instructional programs for Deeper Learning.
My education experiences include being a Kindergarten teacher, Fourth grade teacher, Math Resource teacher, Instructional Facilitator for Technology and now, a Divisional Instructional Facilitator for LCPS. I graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor's Degree in International Studies/Politics and from George Mason University with two Master of Education Degrees. One is in Education Leadership/Mathematics Specialist and the second is in Designing Digital Learning in Schools. It is safe to say that I am a life long learner. And I'm excited to be part of the FDES community!
When I am not at work, I love spending time with my family and dog, Tucker. I live close by, in Leesburg, with my husband, Bill and my two sons, Alex and Chris. My happy place is at our cabin at Deep Creek Lake.
