      • The Virtual Distance Elementary (VDE) program offers synchronous, daily instruction. Students enrolled in Virtual Distance Elementary will take all of their classes virtually, without attending a brick-and-mortar school in person.

        • Courses are delivered using the Schoology learning management system, and students will collectively log in to class via Google Meet.

        • Students are actively engaged in classwork, homework, and other assignments.

        • Students who enroll in Virtual Distance Elementary make a one-year commitment to receiving all of their schooling in this format.

        • Students from all over Loudoun County will attend Virtual Distance Elementary classes together.

        • Students attend classes from 8:00 am to 2:55 pm daily.

      • Virtual Distance Elementary will be a fully synchronous, virtual offering for elementary school students (grades 1-5) based on medical needs and academic preferences in the 2024-25 school year.

All students interested in Virtual Distance Elementary (rising grades 1-5) must apply through the web application for enrollment consideration. The Virtual Distance Elementary application portal for elementary students opened on April 8, 2024, and will close on Friday, May 10, 2024. This application window is the only opportunity to request Virtual Distance Elementary for the 2024-25 school year.

        • Students who do not apply or are not accepted for 2024-25 Virtual Distance Elementary will remain enrolled in their in-person, home-school setting.

Please complete and submit the Virtual Distance Elementary application by the firm deadline of Friday, May 10, 2024.
