• My name is Mrs. Kathy Miller, and I am excited to begin my 13th year in Loudoun County schools and my third at Buffalo Trail!  Previously, I’ve been a school counselor in upstate NY and near Austin, Texas, before moving to Virginia.  I live here in the county with my husband, and enjoy traveling, visiting family, bicycling and boating.  I’ve had experiences working as a child and family counselor, and the opportunity to work with students from kindergarten through college age.  At the elementary level, we all enjoy a special time as students begin their school years.  Elementary school counselors offer a comprehensive program designed to work collaboratively with teachers to help “unlock the keys” to student success.

This year I will be working directly with both second and third grade students in our ACES Classes (Academic, Career, Emotional, Social). Our School Counseling Department formally changed the name this year, to reflect the four domains of School Counseling. We have exciting plans for our expanding department this year!

If you have any questions about your child’s academic, career, social or emotional journey, information to assist me in working with your child, or simply want to introduce yourself, I’d love to hear from you!
