Ms. Hawkins

From the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, Ms. Hawkins developed her love of music at an early age with piano lessons in elementary and orchestra classes in middle school. Her high school days were consumed with orchestra, band, drumline and chorus for this Central High, Blue Ribbon school graduate. Ms. Hawkins' passion continued at Shenandoah Conservatory where she earned her Bachelors of Music in Music Education and most recently her Masters in Music Education. She was also a member of the Shenandoah Conservatory Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Professor Jan Wagner for four years and relived her high school days of drumline playing bass drum in the Shenandoah University Buzzin' Dozen pep band her senior year.

Ms. Hawkins has worked in Loudoun County, Virginia for the past six years teaching music. Currently she is the orchestra director for Stone Bridge and Potomac Falls High School.  She is passionate about continuing to create student-centered learning environments in orchestral music performance, music history, and music theory.
