PHOENIX DEBATERock Ridge Phoenix Debate is entering its 9th season in 2022-23 after eight successful years of competition. Our debaters have won VHSL state and conference championships, competed at the regional and national level, and we've sent over a dozen debaters to NCFL Grand Nationals. This year, we still plan to offer training and competition. Clinics and practices will be in-person, although many tournaments may be online. Debate is an excellent activity for developing critical thinking skills and confidence as a persuasive speaker. It is open to all interested Rock Ridge students. The team information meeting will be on Thursday, September 8th, from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. in the school library. All interested students are asked to attend and to carefully read through all of the registration materials posted below. Be sure to discuss team requirements with your parents/guardians prior to making a commitment to the team. Online registration and nonrefundable dues payments must be completed no later than Wednesday, September 21st, by 5 p.m. Once the deadline passes, we can take no additional team members for the season.
