Ms. Amanda Arbogast

I am thrilled to be returning as a member of the Pack here at Trailside Middle School! This will be my twelfth year teaching and eleventh year with Loudoun County Public Schools. I am honored to be a part of the inaugural staff who opened Trailside in 2014! I have previous experience working with Fairfax County Public Schools in the elementary setting as well as in Special Education. For the past two and a half years, I was the Dean at Belmont Station Elementary School. This year, I will be teaching Health & Physical Education for 6th and 7th grade.

Born and raised in Leesburg, VA, I graduated from Loudoun County High School. I continued my education at George Mason University where I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in K-12 Health and Physical Education. I continued my education at Shenandoah University to obtain a Master's in Educational Leadership. Throughout high school and college, I played both volleyball and softball. I continue to play softball on an adult co-ed league Friday nights right here in Ashburn!

I am excited to instill in my students the importance of living a healthy lifestyle through physical fitness and have students step out of their comfort zone to try something new. I am a lifetime learner and enjoy learning new strategies to incorporate into my classroom. In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors hiking, gardening, canoeing, biking, playing sports, going to sporting events, and spending time with my family.

I am eager to meet my students and learn and grow from my colleagues. Here's to an awesome year!

Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying "I will try again tomorrow."
