Mrs. Blood

Mrs. Blood is thrilled to be returning to Tolbert again this year! This will be Mrs. Blood's twelfth year in education and third year at Tolbert. Mrs. Blood previously taught in Ashburn, VA for five years and Fairfax County Public Schools for four years.
Mrs. Blood takes an eclectic approach to music education. The use of Kodaly, Orff, and Dalcroze applications creates varied and enjoyable learning experiences for all students in the music classroom. She also values the impact music has on the whole student and creates intentional integrated educational experiences for students. With a focus on positive behavior interventions, Mrs. Blood strives to create a safe and welcoming learning environment for all students.
Mrs. Blood is a classically trained pianist and vocalist. She studied classical piano privately for 14 years and has 20 years of choral experience. Highlighted performance experiences include choral performances at the Strathmore Theatre in Bethesda, MD, The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., and a ten-day tour in France and piano performances at the National Shrine in Washington D.C., the Finnish Embassy in Washington D.C, and the Loudoun County Public Schools Elementary All County Chorus Festival. In addition to her experience in the public schools, Mrs. Blood has also taught piano and voice privately and has worked with children's theater programs.
