Welcome to 3rd Grade in Room 27!

My name is Anna Dengler and I am very excited to be starting my eighth year teaching at Pinebrook Elementary!  I spent seven years in first grade and moved up to third grade this past year.  And I hope to see some familiar faces!  ; )  I am from Sterling, Virginia, which is not too far away from Pinebrook.  At home I have two cats, Coal and Violet, who love to chase each other around.  I grew up here in Loudoun County and graduated from Park View High School in Sterling.  I am so lucky to be able to teach in the very county that I grew up in!  I graduated from Radford University and earned my masters degree in Early Childhood Education at George Mason University.
During my time at Radford I had the opportunity to swim on the swim team.  I absolutely loved that experience and as you can imagine I love to SWIM and anything involving water!  Getting me out of the pool during the summer was always difficult for my mom.  I also absolutely love my Washington sports teams!  My family also shares this love so we attend many football, hockey, and baseball games together throughout the year.
I had a pretty busy summer as I celebrated my first anniversary with my husband on July 1st!  How did we celebrate you ask?  We drove over 4,500 miles out to the Grand Canyon and back.  Driving across the country and through 14 states was a pretty awesome experience.  We also got to go to the Outerbanks with my family and my 2 crazy nieces.  We love the Outerbanks and have been going for years.  Lastly, but certainly not least, I have one more thing I need you to know, I AM SO EXCITED TO TEACH THIRD GRADE AGAIN AND HAVE YOU IN MY CLASS!
Please do not hesitate to email me at anna.dengler@lcps.org with any questions throughout the school year.  I look forward to getting to know each of you!
