Read these amazing books are you are relaxing!
My name is Mrs. Jessica Hall and this is will be my foureenth-year teaching in Loudoun County. This is my sixth year at Arcola Elementary! Over the course of my teaching career I spent one-year teaching third grade, seven years in first grade, 3 years in second grade, and this will be my third year as a Special Education Teacher! I am so excited for another one!
I graduated from Radford University with a major in Elementary Education, concentrations in English and Special Education. I also have a Master’s Degree in Special Education from George Mason University. Throughout my teaching career, I have completed a variety of trainings. Some include, STEPS, Pathways, Orton-Gillingham, MANDT, Project Based Learning, and Math Investigations. STEPS, Pathways, and Orton-Gillingham are reading programs that conforms to all students' learning needs. More specifically Orton-Gillingham teaches reading through a fun and multi-sensory approach. Math Investigations is a hands-on math program that allows students to understand numbers and the meaning behind mathematics. The MANDT System is a comprehensive, integrated approach to prevent, de-escalating and if necessary, intervening, when that individual needs it. Project-based learning (PBL) is a student-centered pedagogy that involves a dynamic classroom approach in which it is believed that students acquire a deeper knowledge through active exploration of real-world challenges and problems. It is a style of active learning and inquiry-based learning.
My teaching philosophy is to have a safe and a caring environment for all children. If a child feels safe he/she will learn. I also believe that children should make their own risks and choices. Teaching them at a young age to do this is critical to their growth. I will work with your child on how to solve their own problems with their peers as well as academically.
I am very excited to work with you and your child!
I can't wait to meet you all!
