2020-2021 will be my 10th year at Potowmack and I look forward to welcoming a new class of 2nd graders and working together to become a happy, inclusive, and productive learning community. We will have fun reading, writing, becoming mathematicians, and exploring our world through science and social studies topics. We may be starting our year together remotely, but I am committed to building relationships and a cohesive classroom community with my students and their families. Teacher-parent-student relationships and communication will be more important than ever. I look forward to working with you to make it a great year of growth and learning.
I will also continue to serve our school community as our Internal PBIS Coach and as a member of our Multi-Tiered Systems of Support team. My philosophy is that all students can learn. Teamwork between parents and teachers helps to facilitate student learning and empowers them to be active and engaged learners on their own too. I look forward to being part of that team with my students and their parents each year and I strive to give each family an excellent school experience at Potowmack. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me by e-mail, ClassDojo, or phone if you have any questions throughout the year.
About Ms. Stanford
I moved to Ashburn, VA in 1996 with my family and graduated from Broad Run High School. Over the years, I have enjoyed teaching both 2nd and 4th grade at Potowmack. I currently live in Ashburn with my husband and our dog. I love horseback riding, gardening, hiking, and cooking. My favorite season is winter because I love cold weather.
