• This is the 2nd grade team.

You're in for an exciting year!  We will become stronger readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, and historians during second grade.  Most importantly, we'll continue learning how to become friendly & kind. Sully Hornets show the 3Rs- respectful, responsible, and ready- each and every day! We hope to see you at our Open House, August 24 from 10:00 - 11:00 am, and can't wait for the first day of school on August 25, 2022! Parents, mark your calendar for our Back To School Night, September 7, 2022 at 6:00 pm. This is going to be a fantastic year!

I’m excited to meet you, Hornets! I’m a 2nd grade teacher, and I’m ready for a super year. I’ve taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade in South Carolina. My sons are both going to be University of South Carolina students soon. Go Gamecocks! When I’m not at school, I love taking long walks and working in the garden. You can also find me in the kitchen practicing new recipes. I love to learn, and I look forward to learning with you!

Ms. Fernanda Peña

Hi there!
My name is Fernanda Peña, and I am incredibly excited to meet my future Hornets! I am a former high school and Teacher Cadet graduate from LCPS. I was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to Virginia when I was 16 years old. It was a total life-changing experience! I majored in Psychology at Christopher Newport University, and obtained my Master’s in Elementary Education at George Mason University. In my free time, I love to go on long walks with my dog, Max, spend time with family and friends, and travel. I cannot wait to  learn, grow, and have fun with my second graders. It will be a great year!
