    I was born in Huntington, Long Island, New York, but grew up in Virginia Beach. I graduated in 1992 from Old Dominion University with a degree in elementary/middle school endorsement for grades 4 - 8 with a minor in human services counseling.  I began my teaching career in Virginia Beach at Kempsville Middle School and over the years I have taught English 8, United States history through 1877, United States history 1877 to the present, and civics and economics. This school year (2023-2024) is my thirteenth year at Eagle Ridge Middle and year thirty-two overall.
