Mr. Eric Hockensmith

Welcome to 2nd Grade! My name is Eric Hockensmith. This will be my 26th year teaching for Loudoun County Public Schools.  I have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from California University of Pennsylvania.  This will be my 13th year teaching 2nd grade at Legacy Elementary. I am extremely fortunate to be a part of a phenomenal school, staff, and community.  Previously, I have taught 3^rd grade at Seldens Landing Elementary for eight years (2003-2011), and 2^nd grade for five years at Potowmack Elementary (1998-2003).  I was born in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and spent most of my childhood in Lewisberry, Pennsylvania.  My amazing family includes my wife, Kristi, 16 year old daughter, Zoe, 13 year old son, Reid, and our dog, Nittany, and cat, Oliver.  Zoe will be a Senior at Independence High School, and Reid will be a 8th grader at Brambleton Middle School. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, golfing, and watching any type of sporting event on television. ( Go Colts, Penn State Football, Orioles, Pirates, Caps and Celtics! ) I am excited to start another fun and memorable school year!
