Dear Parent(s):

Kindergarten registration is scheduled for April 17, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  In order to facilitate the registration process, we are conducting a pre-registration survey.

Please complete the attached survey form and return it to Belmont Station.   

Registration packets are now available for pick up in the front office.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible to attend kindergarten, a child must be five (5) years old on or before September 30, 2012.  Compulsory attendance is required of all children who are five on or before September 30, 2012 unless a parent or guardian notifies the school board that the child will not attend school until the following year.  School office staff can give you information about making such a request.

To be eligible to attend first grade, a child must be six (6) years old on or before September 30, 2012.

PLEASE PLAN TO BRING THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ON REGISTRATION DAY Tuesday, April 17, 2012.

1.      The original birth certificate and child’s social security card (if available)

2.      Your  VA Driver’s License

3.      Pupil Registration Form (included in registration packet and online)

4.      Kindergarten Transportation Form (included in registration packet)

5.      Proof of  Residency (a signed deed,  lease agreement, or recent mortgage statement)

A Physical Examination Form completed within 12 months of the first day of school will be required by August 8, 2012.  However, your child’s registration is not complete until all of the above including the physical form have been returned to the school.

PLEASE NOTE:  Mrs. McGinly will hold an information session on May 2nd in the Belmont Station library at 9:00 a.m. to answer questions regarding readiness for kindergarten and first grade.
