Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) uses a web-based, hosted application for assignments, assessments and grades called CLARITY. During the 2011-2012 school year, LCPS will begin the final phase of implementing CLARITY by expanding to all schools. CLARITY is an acronym which stands for Curriculum, Lesson Plans, Assessments and Reports for Instructors Teaching Youth. A small pilot exploring the curriculum and assessment module of CLARITY will be opened this year. Teams of teachers will align assignments and assessments with standards and curriculum resources stored within the system. Also, LCPS will begin expanding the benchmark assessment program into secondary schools. LCPS is working to open the CLARITY Parent Portal to all parents in the Fall of 2012.
