WELCOME to Kindergarten! I would like to introduce myself… my name is Mrs. Miller and I am very excited to be your teacher this year! I can’t wait to meet you and begin a fun-filled year together! Kindergarten is a time of new beginnings, making friends and learning a lot of new things each and every day. Our days and weeks will be filled with many wonderful experiences and opportunities for learning and growing.
Kindergarten is packed with TONS of wonderful things to learn. We will explore letters and numbers… and even learn to write stories like real authors! We will be reading lots of books this year, some of which you will be bringing home to share with your family. You’ll even be able to take home Literacy Bags that are packed with books and activities to try with your family at home! Along the way, we will also learn about plants and animals, become meteorologists, investigate like scientists, and so much more!
When I am not at school, I love spending time with my family. I also enjoy reading, traveling and college football. Go Hokies!! I grew up in Loudoun County and have lived in Hillsboro with my family for ten years. My husband and I have two children, Ethan and Tabitha, who both attend Hillsboro Elementary. I hold a degree in Early Childhood Education from Virginia Tech and previously taught first grade at Mill Run Elementary in Ashburn.
Our Kindergarten adventure begins soon and I can’t wait to meet each and every one of you!
