Mrs. Shannon Gilmore is the STEP Preschool Teacher at Frederick Douglass Elementary. She started her teaching career in Massachusetts, graduating from Lesley University in Cambridge with a B.A. in Human Development and a minor in Elementary Education.  Recently she completed a Master’s of Science Degree in Education with a specialty in reading at Shenandoah University.  Mrs. Gilmore and her family moved to Virginia in 1998 and she began teaching in Loudoun County.  Mrs. Gilmore has previous experience in PreK through grade 4, with preschool being her absolute favorite!  When not teaching she enjoys spending time with her family and pets.  Mrs. Gilmore is excited to be a member of the Frederick Douglass Elementary Team and looks forward to meeting her class as they begin Starting Toward Excellence in Preschool.
