CAMPUS was created by LCPS guidance in 2002, and it is a program that assist students who present the motivation and ability to reach academic success and admission to college.
According to LCPS Website, CAMPUS program is highly recommended to students who:
Will be the first in their family to graduate from a college or university
Come from an historically under-represented population in higher education
Come from a single-parent family, and
May be considered socio-economically disadvantaged
Also, LCPS website states that candidates should show promise for high school and college success, and will be selected based on a variety of factors including:
CAMPUS provides various meetings and activities throughout the school year with a goal of preparing student for not only college admission but also successful graduation from college.
Students are selected to CAMPUS through an application process, which most students will begin in the spring of their 8th grade year.
