Main Street Theater Productions
The Afterschool Main Street Theater Education Program put on through HMS PTA links parent volunteers and outside theatre experts to offer drama in our middle school. The program has two main components: education and performance.
1. EDUCATION. Each fall, Harmony offers afterschool drama classes for any interested beginning and experienced actors. These tuition-based classes are taught by Main Street Theater professionals and open to all who are personally motivated, have good interpersonal and concentration skills, and can focus on individual and group projects.
2. PERFORMANCE. Prior to Spring break, Harmony presents a musical. A casting panel selects students who demonstrate vocal and dramatic preparation, discipline, as well as the ability and maturity to commit to a rigorous rehearsal schedule and work well with others. November auditions are followed by a December/January through February/March rehearsal schedule.
Whether through drama education or performance, HMS students have many opportunities for creative expression. If your child is interested in drama please note the following important drama dates for 2013/2014:
