Room 1: Mrs. Tori Kopp (formerly Ms. Insley) looks forward to her sixth year at Frances Hazel Reid. Prior to joining the FHR team, she worked for two years as a Kindergarten Assistant at Lowes Island Elementary School in Loudoun County. Before coming to LCPS, she taught First grade in Hampshire County, WV while living in Frostburg, MD. She received her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education and her Master's of Education in Reading, both from Frostburg State University. In her free time she loves crafting, reading, baking and traveling with her husband and dog, Gizmo.
Kindergarten Assistant: Mrs. Lisa Carr is in her thirteenth year working as a Kindergarten Assistant at FHR. She is a graduate of Ohio University with a B.S. in Business Education plus a M.S. in Technology Education from Fairfield University. Prior to working, she was active in the FHR PTA since her three children attended this school. In her free time, Mrs. Carr likes to try new recipes and loves spending time with her family and their Weimaraner.
Room 2: Mrs. Lore Keen has been a Kindergarten Teacher at FHR since 2011 and this is her 25th year teaching Kindergarten! She earned a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Florida. She taught for fourteen years in Clay County, Florida. She currently lives in Winchester with her husband. Mrs. Keen enjoys being outside and exploring Virginia. She loves being part of the Frances Hazel Reid Family.
Kindergarten Assistant: Lauren Oliver enters in her seventh year in Kindergarten. Before joining the Kindergarten Team, she was a Teacher Assistant for eight years in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Preschool. All three of her daughters attended Frances Hazel Reid and are now grown and flown. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, walking her new chocolate lab puppy, Auggie, trying new recipes, working in the yard and a big cup of coffee!
Room 6: Alyssa Przybylek starts her second year on the Kindergarten Team after teaching Fifth Grade at FHR for seven years and ten years overall in LCPS. She believes that students learn best with hands-on activities and group learning experiences. Mrs. Przybylek holds a B.A. in Elementary Education from Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania, and a M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction for Science. Outside of school, she enjoys cooking and baking as well as spending time with her family.
Kindergarten Assistant: Mrs. Teresa Whitehouse begins her fourteenth year working at FHR! Mrs.Whitehouse has had many roles but loves to be part of the Kindergarten Team! After school she enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, who both attended FHR. Her oldest son is a graduate of JMU and her youngest son is a recent graduate of Virginia Tech.
Room 7: Mrs. Lala Ridgeway is in her eighth year as a member of the Frances Hazel Reid Kindergarten Team! She is originally from California, having earned a Bachelor of Arts from UCLA and a Juris Doctor from University of San Diego. Prior to moving to Virginia, Mrs. Ridgeway lived in Texas, where she taught Third, Fourth and Fifth grades, served as an Accelerated Math Instructor and was honored as Elementary School Teacher of the Year for her district. Mrs. Ridgeway enjoys hiking, cooking, traveling and spending time with her husband and two children.
Kindergarten Assistant: Mrs. Oneida Garcia is excited about beginning her seventh year as a Kindergarten Assistant at FHR. Prior to working at FHR, she was an assistant at a private preschool in Leesburg for eight years. In addition, she worked as a LCPS substitute teacher. Ms. Garcia is a graduate of Marymount Manhattan College. Her hobbies include reading, travelling and spending time with her husband and daughter, a James Madison University graduate.
